First Week of Prelims

Okay, so the first week of prelims is coming to a close. Not on a high note though. The papers were generally demoralizing. Sigh. I'd better buck up for A levels, if not i'll be in hot soup.

Today was a short day, Paper 3 Chem lasted till 10am and that was all! Save for the majority of my friends who had Econs in the afternoon, i returned home quite early. Nice.

But i guess they'll be laughing at ME next week when I have to stay back for MY econs, and they get their turn to go home early. Zzz.

Alright, back to the LHC. If you haven't heard, refer to my previous post below.

The scientists successfully ran a proton beam through the full length of the accelerator, BOTH counter-clockwise and clockwise. That means they're ready for the collisions. Note, they haven't collided anything yet(so we're still safe from micro-singularities and strangelets).

The next experiment is due on October 21st, where they will run an actual high-energy collision, near the speed of light.

That will decide, whether we end up:

Like this...

where the human race ends with a BANG...

Or this...

where we all go crazy because the LHC has discovered stuff which will require scientists to rewrite ALL the physics books on Earth, and we'll have to relearn EVERYTHING.

Okay i've to get back to studying(YES, PHYSICS) for tomorrow's paper. Goodbye.
