Healing potions, stat.

I've got only 5 mins to churn something out before i go out to get my hair cut.

I'm running a fever, damn it, and this has to happen right before the CTs. Downed some Paracetamol tablets so hopefully it subsides for the time being.

Mr Brown plays Team Fortress 2! I can't believe it. More about it tonight.

Oh, sky's turning dark, i better rush. See you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Firefox 3 is slated for release today!
New interface, and some fresh features too. It's been my favourite browser since don't know when.
Check out its features here.

As i was saying, Mr Brown plays TF2! I watched the personalized trailers of the game characters on his blog. The ones of the Engineer and Sniper were the best. Here they are, below. To load them quick, view the Standard Definition versions ( SD ).

Meet the Sniper

Meet the Engineer

There are other characters too. If you have time, check them out here.

Aunties Galore

After the hair cut, there were Puma sales at TM so we went to have a look. Aunties were everywhere. Scary stuff. Puma had their bags with up to 80 percent discount, and they're nice-looking too.

Baby vs. The Fist

There was this particular baby who gave Valerian a tap on his shoulder. Not once, but twice. Maybe he likes Val (hehe). The child looked kinda cute, and he kept his eyes fixed on us the entire time. That's Val's fist by the way(glad his mum didn't notice).

I wasn't feeling too well today. The fever has gone down(and hopefully, stays down), but i've a bloated stomach. It sort of killed my appetite at dinner. Please, bloated stomach, go away. Reached home at around 615pm and had a long rest on the couch.

Shall go dive into those notes lying on my desk. Then, more TANKMEN!

Goodbye.

Geeetah Heeeroh

Itchy fingers and a straying mind are what led me here.

Today's Tuesday. Means there's the weekly Digital Life! It's almost becoming a habit, i've been reading almost every issue.

There's an interview on the creators of Guitar Hero. They're brothers! Surprising. My first encounter was with its third sequel, GH3 Legends of Rock. Played at Parkway whilst on an outing with og8 several months ago. Immediately hooked. I was having so much fun i didn't want to go back to dinner. Sadly, i had to part with the wireless guitar after 15 mins.

It's 3pm. I just watched a couple of episodes of Salad Fingers. Queer cartoon. Moving on, Nuclear Physics!

More on GH and other stuff, later.

Siao liao.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Had dota with SPC to kill the evening boredom. He left his friends to play with me, i felt so guilty. Very much appreciated bro! Thanks man (:

Game was fine till our teammates left. We lost eventually. But, fun.

Off to dinner.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just closed the last page on Normal Distribution. I guess thats about it for the night, for i'm having one hell of a nasty headache. I'm blogging as i wait for my dad to get out of the bathroom so i can bathe and join Vishnu on Bnet.

Shockingly, ryan just told me that bloody Nuclear Physics isn't tested! I spent a load of my afternoon time on it. Just my luck.

GH on Digital Life

Zeus was a Guitar Legend?

Okay, back to Guitar Hero. Its easily one of my favourite games, because there's GOOD music, and you'll just feel like a rockstar. Yeah, the boss battles include Slash, and, there's DragonForce songs too. Nice. Gamespot rates it 8.0/10 for the Xbox360(lower for the PS2 though).

I've been wanting the game real bad, but the PC version of it is resource-heavy. Shan't try. But, i've got alternatives! Tried other freeware clones(there are MANY out there) of the game, and surprisingly they aren't bad. I recommend Frets on Fire! The only problem is that the user-made song charts aren't up to standard as the GH ones, so you'll have to bear with the low-res sounds sometimes. Do give it a try though.

Newgrounds cartoons are good. I've been watching them for leisure these days. Some of them are funny and some are, well bizarre. Catching Salad Fingers again later(hehe). Powerful stuff.

Oh my dad's out. Just in time, too. Bathe and then, Bnet!(hopefully it cures the nails in my head)

Goodbye.

Six days, to the impending Doom

A week isn't much time, considering the speed at which the last three went by. If only i could warp space-time. Ah, that would bring many, many possibilities to mind (: But, if.

Tay Yek Keak gives the best movie reviews. Scanned through Life! this morning and came across another of his humorous, yet apt descriptions of films. I like the guy. This time it's The Incredible Hulk and The Happening. Turns out the Hulk proved better than a supposedly lacklustre production by M. Night Shyamalan. The Happening was said to be, well, un-Happening. Go read it, he's fun.

Hulk Smash! ( Or gets smashed )

Struck by another bout of flu, or runny nose. It always happens when i hit the books. Especially today, when i sat down to study through the whole afternoon. Thats as exciting as it gets, drowning in notes the entire day.

Some kid got stuck between the metal bars of the pool playground. I noticed the commotion when i went over for dinner. Poor child, hope he or she's alright. The manager and guards were trying their best to help, along with the child's parents.

Poolside

Pretty much mundane stuff at night. Managed to survive through Quantum Physics :)

Family's asleep. Sigh, air of silence. I want to sleep early but i can't. Insomnia's a real killer. I'll have to adjust my body clock in time for the CTs, otherwise i'll be half-dead when i take the papers.

But, there's still time :) Now, hopefully something's good on HBO and off i go to make my cheese sandwich.

Until next time, goodbye!

Breek-ish Birthday Lunch

Happy Birthday Shaoyun!

She turns 17 today. Celebration! We had group lunch at Breeks, T2 Changi Airport. 13 people turned up. Long time since we had such a gathering, certainly well missed.

Prior to the lunch, met up with yujun, valerian and peejay at tanah merah, along with the cake. Ryan was supposed to come but amazingly he managed to wake up 15 mins before the arranged meeting time. So on we went to the airport first, and we explored the walkways of Terminal 3. And, the freshly built toilets.

Fly Marks the Spot

The urinals were something new, they each had a picture of a squashed fly in the centre(look above, yes its the black dot). Yujun and i mistook them for REAL flies at first. I guess thats the optimal point they want us to aim at, while we err, pee. Makes the cleaners happy too. Or probably it could be a creative way to keep men occupied while they take a leak( accuracy competition ). Either way, it's good. So, why not?

After our toilet venture, we headed to Candy Empire to shop. Got 2 LOVE-ly lollipops (hehe). Val got his nougats too. Ryan reached soon enough and we finally headed to Breeks. Turns out the student meal offer's non-existent, so we spent around 15 on average. But, great food.

The staff were a good sport, they carried out everything as planned and even sang the birthday song with us. Keep it up, Breeks! Cake was chocolate, and tasty. Nice. We managed to hand the present over too, but without Kenny's face on it. Sigh :( Thanks to my printer's low toner.

The Intended

The above was the intended present, but kudos to my printer for making his face blue. In the end we handed it over without the face. Sad.

Yujun at his best, eating.

The group separated after lunch. The J1s and peejay left early. The hockey guys(except Kenny), went to Tampines to play basketball. I felt exhausted so i just walked them to the court and caught the next bus home.

I made sure i posted this to coincide with Shaoyun's birthday. Presenting, Kenny Low (:

Kenny, on his daily routine to score more goals

Kenny: Possesses huge, inhuman pectorals(go wiki Pectoralis major). Those monsters are able to crush and atomize metal cans without sweat. Beware, Coca-cola. His jokes have the ability to bring down the surrounding ambient temperature, sometimes to subzero, even. Best used on a hot, sunny day in Singapore. The deadliest striker on this planet, in field hockey. Currently holds the honorable position of top goal scorer in TJC. His socks and shin guards produce unearthly smells. Rumoured to be able to wake the dead, and yes, kill the living. Commonly linked to his ability to put balls in the back of the net effortlessly. His hockey stick produces rattlesnake-like sounds, a feature used to frighten away unworthy players on the pitch. Defenders, be very afraid.

Text-based browser games have been getting my attention of late. No sounds, no animations. Just text. And it's addictive! Surprisingly.

Dinner soon. Meanwhile, off to more adventuring!

See you.

Fawteenth orf Joone

TGIF

The above was produced during another one of my doodling sessions. Boredom, while doing stats for math. Anyway, meant for yesterday.

I'm back. Reached a decision eventually, earlier today. I went to join the dudes at the Leisure Park at kallang, for a movie. After which, i rushed down to Eastwood to celebrate Father's Day. This way, i would be able to spend time with my friends, and my family. My dad deserves the dinner treat (:

Kallang Leisure Park

New place, and quite a revamp too, i must say. I've been there before, the last time was during sec 2 i think. Long, long time.

We caught Prince Caspian, the 4pm slot. I got kind of lost 5 mins into the show(never saw part one), but eventually settled into the plot. Its your typical fairytale, hero-saves-the-day movie, but with the inclusion of certain mythical creatures, or Narnians, they call them. The appearances of minotaurs, centaurs and dwarves were fresh. The White Bitch(Witch, i know, but go watch Epic Movie) appeared for about 2 mins in the entire film. Funny moment.

The show was so exciting that somebody let out a fart behind me and chenghau. Talking about farts, there was one, long and solid expulsion of gas in the male toilet. 2 of us tried to stomach our laughter. Good fun (:

Key pictures for today

Tedrid and The Sleeping Man

Taken outside the new mall, The Sleeping Man was found, asleep, in a particular restaurant. He probably couldn't resist the tempting seats.

Entrance to the National Stadium (of Repeated Closures)

The dudes came here after the movie. I left for my family dinner shortly.

I took a cab from kallang. The taxi driver was friendly, he struck up a conversation as soon as i hopped in. We talked about education, working life. Proved to be quite beneficial. It kinda widened my perspective of things, and some stuff seemed clearer. Glad to have talked. What's more, he cut into lanes, somewhat haphazardly, just to make my journey swift. Yes, we got honked, numerously, but nonetheless, insightful conversation with a nice man.

That about sums up my day out. Now, to find out the results of the qualifier. And, Vishnu!

Goodbye.
Read the news, surfed the net, mundane.

Half adventuring through the Lands of Loathing, half pondering whether to meet up with the sec 4 dudes at kallang. And, well rush things abit.

Father's Day dinner's tonight. Shall i attend? Then, miss the qualifier. What if Singapore wins? I'll miss the one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-moment, atmosphere. And, spirit.

But then again, father's day. Once-a-year. Guilty, no doubt. Choice?

Less than 2 hours to make up my fickle mind. Decisions, decisions.

Meanwhile, here i come, rats of the Typical Tavern!

More, later.

Pianissimo.

Hello, well how should i start.
Here goes.

I've been studying at home(alone) for these few days. With the exception of yesterday of course, a day spent out shopping with the hockey guys, but the details, another time. All's quiet at home with nobody around, but nonetheless, productivity's rather low. There have been distractions. Don't get me wrong, i don't mean the computer, the television, etc. It's my own mind.

Periods of long hours spent cooped up at home have been thought-provoking. My mind tends to wander off as i stare and try to absorb the stuff on my notes. And i continue to digress in my own world of thoughts until i catch sight of my notes and remember what i was doing. The most subtle, yet time-consuming act, daydreaming.

But, dreams aren't exactly what i think of. I haven't been in the best of moods lately, and yes, i feel sort of emotional, for a first. I prefer not to use word 'emo'. It's gradually becoming enormously overused for all the wrong situations, and a common alternative to the word 'sad'.

I can't remember the last time when i was truly, genuinely, happy. It's been a long time.

I've always wanted someone to talk to, someone you can bare everything to, especially in times like these. But i've realised, i'm not that kind of person. For me, baring heart and soul to another is no mean feat. I keep telling others to let out their problems, their frustrations, their struggles, to feel better. I, however, am unable to. Sometimes, i prefer certain thoughts to be left as they are, unsaid.

Whatever's left bothering me, i express in a different way - music, my piano. It might seem weird for a guy to have an inanimate string instrument as a soulmate. But my piano's been great. I let everything out on those black and white keys. When i'm sad, depressed, i play softly and gently. When i'm angry i'll play my pieces with force, sometimes waking my parents in the process. Sure, it isn't some piano from Steinway & Sons, but i like my piano. I'm used to the muffled tunes, along with the unusually hard keys. But after i play, i feel much better.

8 years. That's how long i've been playing the piano. There have been ups and downs, even an occasion where i almost stopped learning piano altogether. But i didn't regret it one bit. Recently, it has helped me, alot.

Hopefully, my thoughts won't continue to stray as much. 10 days left to the CTs. I must make every day worth it. Alright, back to my notes. Goodbye.
